Frame Raising in South Carolina - 10/06/09 10:04 PM

I had my first frame raising experience due to an add on this forum so I think it only logical that I post news of our upcoming raising here. We will be raising our 5 bent, somewhat odd, frame the last weekend in October. The raising will take place on Friday and Saturday. This will be a crane raising and we will attempt to get the frame up, the SIPs on and the roof decking down in two days. If you are interested in helping out or observing please let us know. Thanks, Brian & Ginger Phillips, Woodruff, South Carolina

would've loved to attend the raising, and would still like to hear how it went wink
Did you get all of what you had planned done in those two days? Got pics? I like odd frames grin

Thanks for asking!

The raising went great! We had a great turnout and got everything done as described except the foam built-up roof due to rainy conditions. We got the pine decking on and it wrapped up in tar paper and is holding out the rain. Two windows and a large patio door installed. Not bad for three days!

Just got back from the TFG conference, had a great time.

Yes, pics are nice! They are worth a lot of words or something like that.

To post pics here using the Firefox web browser and a free picture hosting site such as photobucket:

(If you aren't using Firefox, Internet Explorer is pretty much the same)

· Go to http://www.photobucket.com and create an account.
· In the "upload images & video" section, click "choose files" (640X480 is a good setting, anything bigger will have a negative affect on pages in this forum).
· Choose your picture.
· It will upload and you can title it if you want.
· Click "Return to album" (your picture is now on the photobucket site).
· You will be redirected to the uploaded photo; move the cursor over the picture.
· Click "direct link" then right-click "copy." (A link to the photo is now on your machine's clipboard.)
· Go back to the TFG forum site. Click "reply"
· On the top of the reply text window, click the icon fourth from left (next to the envelope). Select "Insert a non-floating image."
· A small window will appear with "http://" highlighted
· Right-click in this window, select paste (which will insert a link to your picture from photobucket), click "OK."
· Select "preview post." You should be able to see the picture that will appear instead of just a web address. Just type text above or below the web address.
