Following are general descriptions of the timber framing tools that I sell. Additional details about condition, type, price, etc., can be provided upon request. Shipping and insurance are additional.

Adzes - Cleaned and derusted, solid handles, most need sharpening.

Currently no Adzes

Chisels - Cleaned, derusted and polished, rough sharpened, handles reset or replaced. Bottom cutting edge lapped flat when required. Handles on timber framing chisels are generally reinforced with a steel ring at the striking surface. Lengths run 14 to 16 inches. The chisels that I sell are generally of two types. All are socket chisels. True timber framing chisels have a heavy cross section, 5/8 to 3/4, where the socket joins the chisel. I also sell large conventional socket chisels which are lighter duty then the true timber framers. These chisels have an eye cross section that usually runs 3/8 to 1/2. True timber framing chisels are getting harder and harder to find and command a premium. Most of the chisels I sell to timber framers are conventional large socket chisels. I also have a comprehensive list of about 100 chisels that can be furnished on request.

Chisels - All of the following chisels are true timber framing chisels. Length of metal is measured from cutting edge to handle end of socket. Overall length is measured from cutting edge to end of handle.
