I read in some past posts here that a Borax solution will work to kill the little pests that cause Blue Stain. A few of my white pine timbers that were not stored properly have started to show signs of this Fungus and I what to nip it in the rear before it spreads.

What is the suggested mix ratio for this solution? Of coarse after treatment they will be properly stored and stickered.

If anyone is interested here is what I have found after much research. Based on US Navy specifications.

65% Water.
20% Borax.
15% Boric Acid.
By weight.

Or

5 qts water.
3 pounds Borax.
2 pounds Boric Acid.
Heat slightly to dissolve.

This is equivalent to the commercial products avaiable on the market.

This 60/40 mix of Borax and Boric gives the maximum solubility in Water. The above mixture will yeild a solution containing 15.8% borates.
