I was looking at the old thread on rigid roof insulation. I'm going to do something similair , 2x6 T&G roof decking , VB, , 2x4 nailers on 16" OC, 8.5 of SM board with 1/2 ply sheathing , with 2x10s cut to 8.5" around edges to box it in . But having a problem sourcing screws that are long enough , 8.5" long.

Would love to use yellow zinc #10, robinson or philips head flat head.

#10 might be a little light for 8" screws. Try the "ytx" line from these guys:

That is great. With the exchange rate right now makes no sense to buy anything to a Canadian list price.

GRK screws are about as bullet proof as you can get in a screw,,,,supposed to be 5 times stronger than a 1/2 lag screw...I believe it is....They are annodized and don't corrode...We usually buy them by the case because they are not cheap.

If you are looking for something like a SIPS screw then Home Depot started carrying a new line last year....The name escapes me right now buy we buy them in lieu of Olys they have a better drive head than Olys

Well it was a good deal until I was talking to order desk. Seems that the sales guy was off by a factor of 2. Not $177 per 1000 but per 500. Still a good source but not supper cheap. $177 vs $245, 28% less which is good.

grk - they may be very good but way more expensive list wise. $483/500 for the multi purpose R4 screw

I wouldn't think you want to use a GRK on the roof anyway...They are usually used where you might otherwise use a lag screw....If you are holding a built up roof system on you need something long with a good sized head and/or washer
