Could it be?

A place for me to come and play without having to worry about rambling and ranting?
My own rambling and ranting, that is...

What a pleasant surprise, and a very good idea!

I'll have to set a play date with all my friends, now that I've ventured back wink

Do they serve up beer and darts here?

Thanks, guys!

speakin of unchartered waters, I need some help with some good information on restoring a wooden boat of my grandfather's. It the 1958 Barbour 16' Silver Clipper made in my home state of North Carolina and the Pamlico Sound. Transom was rebuilt about 10 years ago, and the trusses (this is not the right word) that are the bones of the hull are rebuilt as well.

I bet you can point me in the right direction Derek. Any good books for restoring wooden motor boats? I hope I can find a short shaft for the lady. I think I'll name her "Here's To It"

Thanks, mo

Hey! You've gone off topic!

Oh...wait.

It's OK folks. False alarm. Carry on.
I think we're aloud to do that here. In fact, it may even be encouraged smile

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!
Off to hijack some threads!

Hey Mo

So we have more in common than just timber framing!!! Here is a picture of my Grandpa's home made cabin cruiser that I restored. As for books I recommend you read up on epoxies with the little books that "West Systems" produces, as well as I learned a lot by reading the book Canoe Craft.

Before... My mom is one of the kids on the bow!!

After...

I cut it twice, and it's still too short!!

What a cute boat!

And I'm guessing the second photo is after the Coast Guard determined the maximum load.

A fine restoration job. Woodenboat magazine would be proud.
