We are currently designing a timberframed house that will be raised next spring in New York. It will be located approximately 85 miles North East of Manhattan, near New Paltz.
Does anyone know of a creative engineer in that general area?
Much thanks, Chuck

Do you need fabrication and engineering? Send me an email with specifics.

Thanks for the response, Mike, it's much appreciated.
Truthfully, I just need is a yes man who will put his stamp on the final plan, for permit purposes.
There may be a couple areas where a beam size might need to be confirmed, but, that will be about it.
Cheers, chuck

Chuck: As you are somewhat new to this forum, you can find a "resource guide" on the TFG (Timber Framers Guild) business council site, known as TFBC (Timber Framers Business Council). This pdf document can be downloaded and stored on your computer for future reference. It is also search-able, so you can enter the words "engineer" and get a listing of everyone who has signed up to be listed as an engineer with the council. This should give you a long list of engineers who have experience with timber framing and you can check their listing to see what states they are licensed in. Or if you just look for the heading "engineering" you should find the list as well.
Good luck with your project and your search.
Jim Rogers
PS. you should be able to find a link from the TFG home page to the Business council site, if not then reply here and I'll post one for you.

and then there is the Timber Frame Engineering Council . . .
Not a trade association, but a large group of engineers focussing on timber frame issues.
They are hosting an event at the November Conference.

Thanks Joel, I'll look into that as well.
And, in case anyone noticed, I meant north west, as north east would be in the ocean. doh!
Cheers, Chuck
