I asked the question once, are there any "celebrities" in the guild? I haven't heard of any besides the made famous on youtube, Joel McCarty. There's got to be a handful of celebrity wood workers like Ford. I wonder if he's ever tried any timber framing? I'd rather see him comment on that in an interview. I did see one episode of Steve Thomas' show where a guild member was featured - put up a barn/office for him in Maine.
I think more people would be interested if they knew what TF was. We've got a pretty good little community though as it is.

Just cause Ford was in that movie, doesn't mean he's actually done any timberframing...he acted like he did, but that's all we know.

Hi Mike & Blake,

A pull out centrefold idea is not such a dumb idea.

We need to see a steady stream of 3D models and cutaway timber frame designs that span across the centre fold pages of Timber Framing magazine. Historical and International timber frames would be particularly good since these would both inform and could not be interpreted as promotion of any particular company's wares or services.

Regards

Ken Hume

Instead of Historical, why not include plans of the frames being built today? I don't see why timber shops wouldn't donate some bent or frame plans? So what if they get credit for their plans... it's their plan anyway!
