Hi There,

I’m Laurens a 20 year old second year student bachelor in “woodwork technology” at the University College of Ghent (www.hogent.be) Belgium. Next year I’m in my third and last year of study and in that perspective I have to do an internship. This internship should go on in the second semester of my third year of study (the next academic year). This to prove we can put the theory into practice. My internship promoter from the university college of Ghent is Professor Paul Delcour.

Because in the course of my training I have to perform an internship, because internationalization is an essential element in my curriculum and of course because Canada has a great experience and a great name in the world of wood technology and the country is known for processing wood (it has a high percentage of structural woodwork houses and Oregon is one of the types wood exported by Canada and also imported in Belgium), I would like to do my internship in a Canadian wood processing company.

I’m convinced that an internship in Canada will also provide me another impression on the “Belgian” way of working. I am convinced that a Canadian company can teach me a lot and maybe I can share some of my knowledge with them.

I am interested in a company specialised in outer cabinetwork/structural woodwork timber frame.
After the internship I’ll return to Belgium and finish my thesis there so then a docent of the college of Ghent will take over the task of internship-leader, taking into account the findings and comments of the supervisors (the two Canadian internship-leaders) from Canada.

Finally I have to give a presentation about the internship and the thesis and this will also take place in Ghent and will be quoted by our university-college.
I have to know where I will do my internship and my Professor (Paul Delcour) also has to know it before August. Could you please give me some feedback?
If you are not interested in me, could you help me find an internship in Canada?

More information about myself, my contact details are laurensvdbulcke@gmail.com

Thank you very much in advance

Regards,
Laurens Van den Bulcke
