We are hosting a timberframe workshop at our farm on sept 25/26.
Our location is central Ontario near Peterborough.
The workshop will focus on traditional skills including broadaxe and adze work.

Hi Mark: noted your entry pertaining to your workshop, and am just wondering how you are integrating the hewing and adzing into your timberframing workshop, ie: the time spent on each? Thanks NH

The curriculum is pretty flexible here...we are providing material and guidance but if a student takes an interest in something specific, they will be free to pursue it.
Generally speaking I use the broadaxe for shaping and surfacing and the adze for joinery.

p.s. i should also say that we provide tools as well as material and guidance.....
