Hello fello axe thowers! Recently there was a discussion regarding favorite broadaxes, adzes, etc., being used for hewing, but I can't find it. Anyone help me out? Or care to add on to this post?

Also, when you're looking at an axe with a left hand or right hand bevel, I assume that these designations are given with the axe in the user's hands at use.... That is, if I were comfortable hewing with the timber on my right side, the flat side of the axe would be on the right, thus creating a left bevel broadaxe??? Sorry, this could sound confusing.

Also, favorite weights of broadaxes???

Thanks in advance,
Brock

Sheesh.

Derek, did you have a bad day? Did the neighbours dog poop on your back door step this morning?

Is axe throwing just a game?
Could one try it in, say, hunting...?

I think my viking ancestors may have done so...

Typical viking day with axe: hew a house, hunt some reindeer, and then chop off the heads of the bastards trying to take it all from you...

Note to self - never borrow (and not return) anything from TG.

Hey TG, I bet I can really wind Derek up if I create a new post down here asking about load calcs and timber sizing... laugh

Well, let this be some icing on the cake. Here are some good ole boys having a little fun with their shiny case tractor.

Were you throwing it, or do you always chop your wood over concrete?
