We had a lot of fun at FRAME, and I thought it was probably overdue for me to post some pictures of the axe thow. I thought I'd make the finals, with a qualifying score of 21 in both two-handed and single-handed, but competition proved to be stiff--you needed a 23 to get into the finals I think. One guy even scored a 25 on his qualifying round!
Rupert Newman defeated Alex Eddy in the final round to defend his title of singles champion. A guy named Vlas from Oakwrights won the single-handed competition, and Westwind won the team event.

We even got to do a bit of pit-sawing with some friends.

We are planning an axe-throwing competition for the Eastern Conference in Montebello this fall. I hope a lot of y'all can come and bring your axes. Any of our Canadian framers want to bring targets?
Cheers,
Whit

Nice one, TG. The FRAME axe-throw targets were provided by a hundegger shop...Oakwrights. they competed fiercely in the team event (but were defeated by Westwind), one of their guys won the single-handed event (Vlas), and another placed second overall in two-handed throw (Alex).

Here is the part you will like--the four target stands were made by Oakwrights on the hundegger. I am not kidding. They were pretty slick, too. It adjusted for height without tilting the target. They were donated to the CF charity auction on the final night, I forot how much they raised.

I guess it was a fairly hundegger-friendly event. wink
