Yes, it's possible to timberframe in the burbs. Thanks to this Forum for ponies, scarf joint layouts, timber cart plans, timber handling ideas, pegs, peg hole sizes, anchor seal, and thoughts on whether to buy a Makita mortiser or a boring machine. (I bought the Makita knowing my tolerence for doing things slow.) I'm doing the work in my driveway, then taking it all to the country to put up a ridge beam in a sagging barn. My neighors were relieved when I told them I wasn't adding something new in my backyard. Now let's see if I can post my first picture.
