I would like to know if anybody has run Sketchup on a Linux OS. I am running Win98SE, but I am switching over to a new computer that will probably be running an Open Source operating system. Also, is Sketchup available on CD-ROM, as my download manager said it was going to take six hours to download using dialup. Thanks.

This is the link to SU's hardware and software requirements.

I'm just guessing but I don't think it will work on Linux. It uses the net framework as well as some windows applications so its not just the OS you will have the problem with.

According to this link SU is not available on CD-rom. However if you know somebody who has SU they can make you copy of thiers and give it to...There aren't any protections to preclude copying the program. The easiest way is to copy the "package" download before its unzipped. then unzip it on your computer the same way as if you did the down load yourself.
