I`M LOOKING FOR SERIOUS REPLIES TO THIS.I HAVE A BOARD THAT LISTS THE PROS AND CONS OF SEVERAL OF THE DIFFERENT ALTERNATIVE BUILDING SYSTEMS.I`D LIKE TO ADD TIMBERFRAMING TO THE BOARD.MOST SYSTEMS DON`T MENTION THE FLAWS INHERENT TO THE SYSTEM AND THIS ISN`T FAIR TO NEWBEES TRYING TO GET INVOLVED.

COST,

MOST METRO AREAS WILL REQUIRE FINDING AND ENGINEER TO 'STAMP' THE DRAWINGS FOR THE FRAME.

BUT YOU CAN'T BEAT THE OOOOHS AND AHHHHHHS OF A TIMBERFRAME....

The mechanical systems of todays modern 2x houses are much easier to install in those 2x's than the timberframes. But I don't consider that a flaw because it makes the people involved stop and say "this is not like usual, how can we do this". that is good.

so instead, the flaw for modern mass production housing is, the tradespeople don't think. that is bad. repetition is only good for practicing free throws and making something the same.
