The only carbide blade for the 10 1/4 seems to be a 64t. Are there any other options? It seems to cut very slow and be tough on the saw for drop cutting. I think less teeth would be better. Maybe the teeth just need a different set?

Unless you must have that extra 1/8" depth of cut - there is no reason not to use standard 10" blades on this saw. The saw has a removable bushing that allows any blade with a 5/8" hole (AKA any 10" table saw blade) to fit the arbor. I use Freud's Diablo thin kerf blades on my 10" Makita with good results.

I've had bad luck with thin-kerf blades on green timbers (pine and fir). The blade heats up and cups, then won't cut straight. We're currently using the blade that came with our Milwaukee 10" saw (piece of junk) in our Makita 10". The Milwaukee saw is junk - blade is OK, 28 carbide teeth. CB.
