Due to health reasons, I must sell the following items pronto:

Makita 7104L Chain Mortiser
Makita 5402NA Beam Saw
Makita 1806B Beam Planer
ProTool SBP285 Portable Band Saw

Make me an offer on all or one! All tools are like new condition. Will probably post on eBay in next few days if no takers. Send email to joeylowe@loweco.com and we can go from there. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Brad! The beam saw and beam planer sold on ebay today. I still have the bandsaw if anyone is interested. Time permitting, I have several adzes, chisels, slicks, mortising machines available that I will list in a few days.

What is the portable bandsaw used for with timberframing? Is it just for cut off or cheek cutting tennons like many do with a circ saw? I would think that it would be difficult to cut curves in braces with a portable, no? Is there another use? I would like to get a 20 inch stationary band saw for brace curves, but it'll have to wait until some more important things on the list are taken care of. If I have to, I can take braces to someone elses shop and make the cuts.

Hi all! The bandsaw sold to a framer up in Moose Pass, Ak. Brad the bandsaw it typically used to cut arches in purlins and joists. Kind of replaces the adze. Have also used it to cut arches in braces too. Once you have one, it is real easy to see where it can be used to save time.
