Does anyone have any solutions to removing melted red timber crayon from dryer? Just washed my cartharts and apparently that one got away on me.....

Something like a hair dryer or a heat gun to warm it up just enough to scrape it off with a putty knife, might work. Good luck.....

Thanks for the tip... I ended up turning the dryer back on for a few minutes so the crayon would soften up a bit and scraped out what I could with a plastic knife. Still got red smears all around the inside, but it doesn't seem to be coming off on the rest of the family laundry. Yay! My cartharts, on the other hand, drew quite a bit of attention at work.."Looks like you've been butchering something,"...But they're pretty worn and I need a new pair, anyways. Maybe I'll invest in the utili-kilt (no, not the thong...!), but at that price I think I'll be hand washing it ! *TG

You could try WD 40...it is listed as one of teh things it can do and I have experience removing a "mural" from a painted wall (no trace left). However I have no idea how to get the smell of WD 40 out after! Bob

I guess Skin So Soft would get rid of the WD40 smell. That's listed as one of its 1,001 alternate uses

OK, so it's been almost a year, and I've just decided it's time to throw them out. Most of the red is gone, as well as the knees, cuffs and inseam. It's time to let go....... And get that Utili-kilt!

Think I'll get a pair of those thongs for next trade show. That way when people aren't sure if they remember talking to me I can say. "I was the guy wearing the tool thong". That should do the trick.

Maybe you could try the same trick for getting wax out of your carpet... place a few paper towels over the affected area and hit it with your iron. Melts the wax, and gets absorbed into the paper towel?
