Hello all,

I'm brand new to Sketchup, and it sure sounds like a lot of you are doing amazing stuff.

Well...I'm a little slow to learn this stuff. Anyone have advice for just getting started? A best book, or tutorial, or just put on the coffee pot and get in there?

If I missed a similar thread, my apologies.

Thanks in advance!

Zach

Sketchup for Dummies is both an excellent reference and step-by-step tutorial. CB.

Thanks, guys. Good suggestions, I'll go with both routes.

I imagine it's a little like teaching an old dog new tricks: it just takes a little longer.

Hmm... Maybe I need to reward myself with a beer when I learn a few new tricks.

aiden chopra has good videos to learn with, here is one:

You need to learn to draw, and you also need to learn how to organize your drawing.
Here is a quick video that goes into how sketchup is organized:

Thanks, Mark.

I'm really impressed with Aiden Chopra's videos.
I've been going through them as I wait for his book.

I'm pleasantly surprised how easy Sketchup is to learn on the basics level.
