Is there an easy way to put callouts in a SU drawing? For example, a bubble blow-up of a joint or a "see detail above" type thing. And is there a way to just show timber ends for detail drawings? Much like you see with hand drawn joint details,a la Sobon with the tiny chard on the cut off end. Thanks

You can do it with layer management, text, leaders, and creative grouping... but this is where going pro is worth it - LayOut is more suited to this type of work.

See www.mikebeganyi.com for some examples.

Thanks Mike. Yes I was reading about Layout in the for dummies book. So Layout is included with the pro version I assume?

Hi I'm new to TF and have not been in it very long and need to know what software I can buy to do my drawings, that will also give a cut list with drawings for my guys to use to cut out all the parts. Thanks also I just found this site and I don't if I put this question in the right place.

SketchUp is free. Check out the workshop listing on the TFG website for some upcoming training sessions.

You'll also want to look for the TF Rubies, which work with joinery and lists.
