I'm trying to decide on a couple of Big Foot saws one is an older model which appears to be cast aluminum and a newer model which looks a little more refined where the finish is very smooth.The foot plate on the older saw looks like a solid casting without the ribbing as found on the newer foot plate and the bevel adjustment bracket at the front of the saw is integral to the foot plate on the newer style footplate.
Is one better than the other in terms of durability?
The integral bevel bracket on the newer saw looks a little stronger as opposed to the older stamped steel metal bracket as found on the older saw. Does either saw do a better job at staying square to the blade? My apologies for rambling on like this. Regards Jesse
