My wife and I are currently building a timber framed sunroom addition on our home. I've been searching the web for ideas of what we can use as carved embellishments in the timbers. Our home is timber framed, and the only carved embellishment is the year that it was raised (1996). We want to do at least that much on the addition, but my wife and I are thinking of maybe doing some other additional design to "fancy" it up a bit. One idea we had was symbols representing the 4 seasons.

Can anyone direct me to where there might be some resources that I can tap into to get other ideas, or alternatively, propose other ideas here.
