Thanks for the link! Sure hope a lot of video is being taken If the guild put out a DVD with video and pictures from this project, I'd be first in line to buy it!
I love to see hewing techniques, ever on the look for ways to improve and adapt my own methods. The large section removal method seems wonderful to me, I'll have to try it out!

Thanks for your good wishes.
We are struggling to document this thoroughly; Internet connectivity has been spotty.
The pro film crew arrives this week - and while they will have missed some things, and we won't see the fruits of their labor for a year or more, it's still the right thing to do.
And yes, they are tired at the end of the day. And then they go to TFG Night School. Tonight is a presentation contrasting journeyman training in UK, DDR, and US, by guys who have been through the programs.

Hi Joel & Ed,
The Skansen visit thread shows an ancestral scarf / lap joint in image IMG_0829 under the Skansen visit thread.
How does this (apparently) in line log joint work ?
Regards
Ken Hume
Looking back to see the way ahead !

Mike is being way too modest.
He's been saving our butts.

Thanks Joel. Was honored that you folks sought me out for the work, truly. Here are a few snaps of the shop drawings. You may want to click to get a larger image. I took the engineering model and did the joinery and cleanup in SketchUp, then placed the model in LayOut to detail, dimension, etc.

Fantastic work, Mike! I'd love to see some of the details, but the click-to-enlarge does not seem to be working.

Thanks Clark, try right click 'View in new tab' or something similar, depending on which browser you are in.
I'll collect them up and get them into a gallery, in a larger format. Check back later today.
