Hello Everyone, New to the forum, it's a great resource glad to have it available.
I moved to The Big Island of Hawaii a little while back. Many of the people ( potential clients) that I discuss wood frame structure with always end up at " what about the mildew amd mold?" On the east side of the island the RH is about 75% most days. Mildew will grow in eves on painted and un-painted wood.

I am curious is people here have thoughts on treatments or species that are less prone to mildew.
Some design issues I would address are steep pitches that create overhangs that have minimal air flow and I also feel on that thread that fascia boards also minimize airflow a bit as well.

Dry materials would seem the first best step as most all lumber here is treated with Borate for bugs and is probably 75%MC at best when sitting at the lumber yard.

Any thoughts? All appreciated.
Thank-you,
Correy
