CARPENTER / BUILDER WORK-TRADE <-> LIVE-IN POSITION AVAILABLE
Starts: ASAP til end of October, or could be year-round
Location: Ashevillage Institute in downtown Asheville, NC
Trade: 10 hours per week

Job includes installation of windows, doors, shelves, flooring, mini decks, little roofs, locust arbor, some stone work and steps, plus miscellaneous "fix-it" tasks. Experienced fine finish carpentry for indoor and outdoor projects. Background using unmilled and milled wood. There's opportunity to learn how to work with earthen plasters and paints. Two of us are natural building specialists.

We are looking for a mature, experienced, delightful, independent person to help at our fabulous one-acre, eco-urban permaculture site. Enjoy a small, fun-loving, working/living community of progressive people who are very into natural/bioregional living. We are headquarters to the Ashevillage Institute and Kleiwerks International.

Exchange includes 10 hours per week for --> a camping/sleeping platform in our woods; use of our naturally-finished guest house with shared wifi, laundry, kitchen and office; greenhouse shower and composting toilet; wood-fired courtyard hot tub, baking oven, griddle and fireplace; food that comes out of the garden. The site is an 8-minute walk from downtown Asheville, NC; borders 60+ acres of woods and trails; 15 minute drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
