Hi everyone,
In my country cricket is most popular sports. I personally like cricket because as I believe it’s an exciting game and I like to watch live matches as well.

And here in Friesland it is vaulting over ditches using a long wood pole with a piece of wood nailed at the bottom to prevent sinking in the mud, with a serious nose-dive as consequence. It's called Fierljeppen and was originally the way monks got around without getting wet feet. Well, it has developed into quite a competitive sport since then.

Greetings,

Don Wagstaff

this is also a high school sport in America, or similar to one. we call it pole vaulting, and the folks vault over a bar some 14 feet or more in the air, landing on a great big soft fluffy pad down below...

Must be what those beds are for, the landing.

I have become a fan of swimming, been a great summer for it. Swam more this summer than have in my life combined. Some years went by and I didn't even get in the water.

Hey, that's funny, Fierljeppen is the opposite of swimming!

Greetings,

Whats funny is that a camouflaged post by a forum spammer turned into something of a real thread.

Hi DL, what do you have for success stories, game taken? Nothing like getting out into the back woods. We made atlatls a few years ago, no hunting, just seeing how far we could chuck the dart. Interesting how hunting has turned into a sport, and not survival or wellness. How about the paleo diet, but your meat has to be taken with your home made bow. I think I would rely on traps, snares and such.
