I am building a Japanese home in the us currently and am in Japan doing some research. I have been offered several hitachi chain mortisers that are in very good, serviceable condition. I already have a few but knowing how hard these are to come by in the us, I thought I would offer them to interested parties. New, they are $1800-$2000. I can get them for $600 which includes shipping to the us.

Hey Chris! You beat me to it!

I was going to suggest posting here...those are great deals and I know a number of timber framers have asked me about "direct supplies" especially for "chisel mortisers for square peg hole cutting and other "Asian style" joints these do well on. I will keep spreading the word on my end...
