I have recently been informed that my liability insurance carrier, Northeast Insurance, no longer wants to write timberframe contractors. So I've begun the scramble to find new coverage by my cancelation date in the middle of April. Has anyone in the Northern New England had good experience with an insurance agent or company that they would recommend? Thanks for any ideas...

I'm sorry I do not know. But I would like to know (and others I am assuming) why they will not cover timberframers?

If you lived in NY or CT I'd say it was because of something the state legislature enacted.

Sometimes when the pool of insured persons/companies is small enough all it takes is one bad accident. Anyone drop a bent on a bystander recently?
