I am working as a member of a community group that has taken on the task of restoring a 1920's dairy barn in southeast Washington State. You can see information about our project on our community web site at http://www.uniontown.us/communitydevelopment.htm. We have raised funds for structural repairs and reroofing the building but we are having difficulty finding structural consultants who are interested in working on this project. The structural engineers we have asked for assistance have said that they are not sure how the structure works in these old arch based roof structures and so they can't help. I think why we are having problems finding an engineer is because the roof structure is arches rather than a straight post and beam. The arches are laminated 2 x 6s. Please contact me with information on potential structural engineers or consultants at dlmiller@inlandnet.com
