I need help finding the strength values for white ash. I do not see ash listed in the Timber Frame Joinery and Design Tables. If someone could point me to a table that includes white ash i would be gratefull. Also, if any of you have used white ash as principal house timbers I would appreciate some feedback on checking. We have some white ash as purlins in our barn and they certainly have checked....... thanks a mil -Mark in Ontario.

Chapter 4 of the Wood Handbook (there is a link to it on the main Guild page) has all sorts of UNADJUSTED strength properties for ash and other species. http://www.fpl.fs.fed.us/documnts/FPLGTR/fplgtr113/
