We have a barn that we would like to sell. A portion of this barn was originally a gristmill in Shelby, Ohio. The barn measures 36' x 60' and is a bank barn. The frame is made of oak and beech timbers with a gable roof still containing the wooden shakes. The frame is hand-hewn and is dated around 1820 - 1830. We would like to sell the barn to be dismanteled and removed from the site. Thank you.

Doug - thanks for the interest. We are going to take our best offer. Can you tell us what you intend to do with the barn? We are planning on selling no matter what - we don't want to see it go to waste, but would love to see it used as a frame in some way.

Well I have a couple of timber frame buildings on the farm now that a friend and I built. We have an 1859 barn and 1859 carriage barn that my wife and I are slowing restoring. I was planning on building a horse barn for her next year but my friend saw your post and thought your building might work out. So my idea would be put it back together and use it by my family as horse barn etc..... and brag about its place origin and its history. I will tell you that took down a old timber frame farm house with some success and the thought of another dismantle does not rate as a task I would be looking forward to, but I think I might get some people to help. If all things worked out I may go in this direction for sake of history, and preservation vs. new..... I guess more thinking would have to take place....Would also like to come down and see it... Hope this helps answer some of the questions. Doug

Doug, Let me apologize for taking so long to get back to you. It will be fine for you to come take a look at the barn. I will probably not be able to do this until towards the end of next week or the beginning of the first week of August. If you are still interested, let me know and we can set up a time.

Hi Albert i am interested to find out more about your barn. I am currently looking to purchase a barn for addition to an existing house in Connecticut. Could you please advise regarding cost and condition, additionally do you have photos available?
