I have looked all over for info about this.

I have a barn (grey) with beams, a tool shed, and two chicken coops (red) that I'm trying to sell.

I am trying my hardest to maintain a 70 acre, 100 yr old farm and have been told that selling barn wood may be my answer.

All of the buildings mentioned above have fallen within the last couple of years.

I believe the wood is oak, but don't quote me on that.

The barn is in Northern Illinois.

Can I actually make money off of this wood?

Please help if you can!

Thanks!

You might be able to make very good money from the lumber, but it might not be worth anything since it's been on the ground 2 years.
I'd get somebody local who knows wood to take a look at it and give you an opinion. If the wood is still good then it needs to get up off the ground as soon as possible. You might put a request for help in at the forestry forum, it's a trust worthy group of people.
