What uses are there for old hand hewn beams? The joinery was sacrificed in places so the beams no longer form a frame, however, these are beautiful pieces of wood. Can the joints be reformed? Can they be used for repair work?

I have about 75% of an old tobacco barn from West- Central, MA (Florence, which is all hand hewn hardwood. Many of the timbers werr cut off at the joints. I intend to use some of the nicer ones to make a bed frame, headboard and footboard once i have some "free" time. The others I will just save unil that perfect use comes along. Be creative.

Yes, you can use the timbers again for a timber frame. Many old frames are recycled from previous buildings. You can do the same. New joinery can be cut and you can build a new building! Recycling is alive and well eh!
Good Luck!
