Moving was pretty common in these parts as well (southern New Hampshire). Vertical movement was also a big thing. 'Git one of them new-fangled second floors by cribbing up the house and building a new first floor. Salvage, mostly timber, has been moderate here. I suspect with all of our hills it was just too much of a pain in the *** to drag the stuff around. Then again, why spend all that hand time cutting more timber when you have a perfectly good one hanging around.
