Joe,

Thanks for using the the Guild's "ask the experts" page.

Your interest in saving or replicating a timber frame barn is part of a growing trend. Hopefully people with your interests will become the basis for saving more of our timber frame heritage. I'm pleased to see you already see the value in investing in professional direction.

If you are not already a member of the Guild, I would recommend that as a good first step. The Guild is made up of professionals and enthusiasts, many of whom have a specific interest in saving old barns. The Traditional Timber Frame Research and Advisory Group is made up of Guild members who not only reaearch the old ways of building, but can offer help in saving, restoring or reproducing old barns.

Although the Guild is itself not a trade organization, it's membership covers a very broad range of personal and professional interests. It's members can be located through the membership directory, which is one of the many benefits of membership.

Good luck and keep us posted on your persuit.

Rudy
