My fimberframe contractor suggested installing a cold roof (ventilation). I want to know if installing two rows of furring strips(1"x4") (one row vertical, one row horizontal)is good enough to vent? Also, how should I vent my soffits and ridge? confused

Who ever you get the metal roofing from should be able to supply you with the proper ridge vent for said roofing. Check with them on this. Two strips should be ok. Also soffit vents are a standard item at most lumberyards, (I believe). Good luck, Jim.
