I have 2 old boring machines. One is in pretty much mint condition, and the other is not. The later has a twisted frame and dry rot. I want to build a new frame for the machine as I will use it and not keep it as an antique tool on a shelve. The question is, What species of wood were most of the old boring machines made from. Out of the two I have one species looks like Ash or Oak, and the other, Poplar????? Could you please let me know what would be a good species so that I can rebuild one of the two. Thanks, Adam
