Greetings,

I was wonderting if anyone on this board lives near Northwest Penna.? I am interested in learning more about timberframing, perhaps attending a school, and possibly apprenticing to someone

If anyone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

David George

David, One of the classes I've taken was taught by Jack Sobon at the Hancock Shaker Village every September. This class teaches traditional timber framing (no power tools used). I highly recommend this course. Good luck, Jim

The recent listing for this workshop in Scantlings says Sept. 19-23rd at Hancock, Ma Shaker Village. Jack's phone number 413-684-3223 or Dave at 413-684-3612. Dave Carlon is a well known teacher who works with Jack and other guild classes. Good luck, Jim

The workshop at Hancock Village was truly an experience. Both Jack and Dave are artisans in their craft. The course was informative and fun. Jack has quite a sense of humor. You may end up winning the shnaf award as my partner Jim and I did.
