Hi, I am interested in learning more about the Millers Falls boring machines and would welcome any and all feedback or info.

Are there any good web sites about these machines?

What models were produced over what span of years?

Which models are preferred by timber framers, and why?
Personal experience, comparison with other machines?

Thanks very much,
Chip

check out: http://www.public.coe.edu/~rroeder/mf.htm
they have some info about the company in general, as well as a selection of catalogs and manuals.

if you're interested in how much some guys are willing to spend on these old machines, check out: http://www.myoldtools.com/boring.htm

I'm in the process of refurbishing an old Ajax Boring Machine. Its similar to to Millers Falls ones you see around, and it is adjustable to bore holes at up to a 45 degree angle. We'll see how many of the mortises for my new barn I actually bore using this tool as opposed to my electric Milwaukee auger.
