We have 100 acres of timber that we want to clear, or at least make into grazable paddocks for cattle. There are considerable numbers of oaks, mostly white oak, but other types as well. Also some cedar. Many of these oaks are tall and straight. I first planned to sell them off as saw logs, but I wonder if there might be a way to market them into the timber frame market.
If there is a demand, we have access to a larger acreage as well.
Also there are local sawmills that could cut posts or beams from the logs, prior to shipping.
And we have room to stack and air dry, if necessary.
Any ideas on how to market these logs is appreciated, thanks in advance!
