I was consulting the Timber Frame Joinery and Design workbook today (pages 26 - 31) and noted that no design values are listed for American Chestnut. I appreciate that the chestnut has suffered from blight but were values ever established ?

Can anybody advise a set of values ?

A set of values can be found in chapter 4 of the Wood Handbook, available free online from the Forest Products Lab.
