Can you recommend some PC software for use as a timber frame home design tool? The last structure I built was designed with pencil and paper, but now I would like to explore developing plans and elevations with software that will allow me to make changes without laborious redrawing.

I have been using a PC version of Ashlar's Vellum and find it quite good. I heard they have an even less expensive version like Vellum Light or something like that in the $60 range. I think Vellum 4.0 may be as much as $2000. I think I paid $1000 in 1994 and still use that old version. The upgrade is $800 and I just don't see the need....yet.
