The big foot saw has arrived... but I'm not crazy about the big foot blade. The blade seems to consistently pull to the left. This could be solved by having the blade sharpened, but I wanted to ask what people are using for blades on the 10" big foot? I would rather have a wider kerf, if it would help the saw cut straighter.
Thanks,
-Mark in Ontario.

Mark, in my experience a quality thin kerf blade is the way to go, though they are susceptible to warping if abused & overheated. Kept sharp & free of pitch they'll last a long time. Matsushita is a brand of blade available locally that I've been very happy with, even though they are spendy they're worth it.

Mark,

We have 3 big foot saw blades and we have not had that problem. Which saw motor does your big foot have? Ours is a Skil and it requires a blade with a diamond knockout center (hard or impossible to find in 10-1/4").

If you tell big foot you got a bad blade, I would think they would make it right. Good luck

Mark...

Please post how this turns out. I plan to order a large diameter saw in the very near future...likely the Bigfoot.

I got the bosch driver, REALLY like it, quiet and powerful. The adapter is good stuff, although we took it apart and spent an hour or two machining the bottom of the base with sandpaper and glass....
As far as the blade goes, Either I ran into an unseen bit of dirt or steel early on or the sharpening was a bit off.... normal enough, I'll send it out for resharpening...
The issue for me is that I'm planning on picking up at least one more blade for the saw soon and I wanted to "ask the experts" and see if the big foot blades are being used or not...
Thanks folks,
-Mark.

Thank you for the reply Mark.

Sounds like you're going to get more blades from BigFoot...true?

BTW, did they ship all of the original parts to the Bosch so it could be converted back to stock?

no extra bosch parts came in my package, just the saw, the manual and the tacky tee-shirt
As far as buying more big foot blades go, that is why I'm asking the question....trying to do my research

I'm going to consider buying the Bosch and the Bigfoot Kit separately. I think the price will be about the same.

BTW, what "defect" were you touching up with the sand paper?

Does the Bosch have the "diamond drive"?

yes bosch is diamond drive

We lapped the bottom of the base plate, it was "a bit rough"
Don't let this concern you too much, the big foot is a good tool, well made, but I would say not precision made.... with a little t.l.c. it's a very fun saw to use..
