My Hitachi 3-1/4hp router has died and I can now use it in its more proper role as a lousy boat anchor.
But I need to replace it
Any recomendations out there?

After burning up a couple of Porter Cables, we switched to Makita. We have 3 of them now, and they work hard for us, especially cutting housings. Only complaint is that the plunge lock can creep if you don't lock it really hard. Minor point, but worth noting. CB.

Let's not neglect the German's offerings.
I'm very happy with my 3-1/4Hp Fein RT-1800, I've heard good things about the Freud as well (though it's a bit pricey).
