I would have to check to see who made our come-alongs. That company was bought out by I believe Ingersol Rand. They have an aluminum body and are very safe and reliable. I will try to get some more info on them. I wouldn't pick up one of those cheap stamped steel ones if you gave me a crisp new ten dollar bill, nothing but trouble.

Go with a Grip Hoist and you'll always be happy with it. I use them doing trail work, where we have moved 300-500 lbs stones. Unlimited distance ( just get longer cable) and no dogs to deal with....If you want to take up an inch you just move the handle to do it....want to let it out two, just switch the handle and let it out. The ton and a half is a nice size to work with but I also have the 4 ton ...big and heavy but can move ANYTHING...if you have a good anchor :p

I'm with Gabel. The Lug-alls are available in a variety of sizes and cable lengths. They're reliable. I've also used Hook Int'l. brand. It's OK but the fit/finish are not as nice as Lug-all- not worth the 5% savings. I took it back and exchanged it for the Lug-all!

I have been using Lug-All for close to eighteen years, they last and all parts are available.

The lug all is a very nice looking puller, little expensive, but very nice.

The stamped steel ones are awful. I like this one, nice upgrade from the stamped steel ones.

Puller

I’ll have to try the lug all, looks like a piece of machinery!!

Thanks,
pete
