my parents used to have an axe throwing range in the front yard. according to memory (always a bit fleeting wink ) it had an upright log, with a braced cross piece up top, and the log target hanging down from it.

we made up a range at a party a couple of years back, good times, if slightly dangerous party games. setting up a range in the backyard is a priority, as soon as the sauna is built, the garden is growing, the log-bridge is repaired, the deck needs new treads, etc. etc.

double bitted is the way to go. chop the handle down a bit to where you feel comfortable choking up on it so as to not bonk yourself in the back of the head with the excess handle. really satisfying when the axe sticks.
