Question: I'm attaching a link to a site that shows a bank barn that is 38 feet wide(by 80 long). If it's a 10/12 pitch roof (I'm guessing), that would mean the rafters are 25-26 feet long. On a barn like this, are all those rafters one piece that long? Or are they scarfing all of those? Or is there some other trick? If I wanted to go that wide today, you can't easily come up with that many rafters that long. So how is it done?
