Zach, for the eaves I was just going to step lap the rafters and have 2- 4" of rafter tail extend out about a foot for support of roofing and add a fascia to the ends of the tails and planking. Does this sound right? Mark do you mean to run the wide furring strip at the edge of the frame gable or the overhang edge? I think with purlins it is easy to just extend the last bays' purlins lapped over the rafters out for support, but I wonder if there was a similar strategy people would use on a common rafter roof . Zach, I definitely would attach a fascia to the ends at the gable overhang as well. I still cant figure out what a sub fascia if for?Is it just a finishing, aesthetic detail?Derek what is a barge rafter? tb
