Hi Tim
Have you had a chance to see or read The Road yet? The movie was pretty true to the book. The journey of the man and boy across a wasted land (Pennsylvania & Mt. St. Helens in the film) and doing what it takes to survive and still be the good guys. It lead me to get McCarthy's Border Trilogy for Christmas and I enjoyed these as well. Great cowboy dialogue, set in the desert and mountains in 1940's Tex., New Mex. and Mexico. Maybe a little Spanish dictionary would have been handy.
You also might like the photos of Edward Butynsky? Manufactured Landscapes, our industrial effect on the earth from quarries in Vermont, slag heaps in Ontario, ship recycling in Bangladesh and 3 Gorges in China.
Oops! Opening ceremonies have started.
