Weight is weight it does not matter if I am hauling 50 2x6x16' or 25 4x6x16' or 16 6x6x16' they are all 800 cubic feet and weigh just about the same. We have done several island jobs, so other than the carrying of the individual timbers shipping them across is not an issue in any way.

I would also point out that you may build however you like, and I can see 2x stock or stick framing being simpler for a novice than perhaps they feel a timber frame would be, but one is not the other. "laminar beam" construction is a form of "post and beam" architecture and is not germane to timber frames as Timberwrights design and cut.

Do you want a timber frame or a laminar beam modern design?
