Hello everyone tonite

Well I just finished uploading a new subject, that deals with the restoration of an 1865 barrel wheel, some might also call a rose wheel
These were used to power up water powered sawmill's vertical blade of that period
Of course all other associated mechanical parts used the same power source, the video includes a new pressure box being manufactured as well as a new 12" oak axle
The interesting topic associated with new axle is the insertion of the cast iron Gudgeons on each end using molten lead, a forgotten historic millwrighting process, and one that needed much research to accomplish
I personally recorded each step of the process, hoping that at some future time this recorded process might be used to bring an old mill to life, or maybe just be an interesting topic of instruction
Any way this topic along with the previous 3 topics are available
